Ever heard the saying, ‘build it and they will come’?
Well, unfortunately, it’s just not true. You might have built the best thing in the world but unless people know about it, how will they come? What’s more sending a simple press release just isn’t going to cut it these days.
You are a passionate entrepreneur with a business idea or a product that the world needs to know about, you just don’t know how to do it. You don’t just want to hand over your baby to a PR firm nor do you have the funds to so, but what you do have is shed loads of determination.
I am a freelance editor and journalist who has written for a variety of publications both online and in print. I currently split my time between writing and editing for Red Magazine, The Evening Standard Online, Metro.co.uk, YOU Magand contributing to The Sunday Times, Marie Claireand Good Housekeeping.
I receive an average of 150 press releases and feature pitches every day, I speak to brands, entrepreneurs and PRs on a weekly basis, and over the years have learnt what works, and crucially, what doesn’t.
Positioning a brand for press isn’t always straightforward but it can be a real turning point in its success, so I decided to start coaching female entrepreneurs (just like you) and share all the things I’d learnt from being on the inside to help them stand out from the crowd – or more aptly, the pile of press releases – and get them featured in the press.
